ER309L wires are classified as solid wires under AWS specifications for Stainless Steel ER309L welding wire. The wire comprises 23.5% Cr and 13.0% Ni, making it ideal for welding similar materials. They also contain small amounts of manganese, silicon, and carbon.
Stainless Steel ER309L Wires Physical & Mechanical Properties
ER309L wires have excellent physical and mechanical properties. They have good weldability and can be easily used for various welding applications. The wire offers moderate tensile strength, about 700 MPa, equivalent to typical mild steel wires. Additionally, these wires have low thermal expansion properties, allowing them to withstand high-temperature changes.
