The ASME SA276 Grade 304L rod is recognized for its resistance to sensitization from grain boundary precipitates, making it usable in its as-welded condition. However, changes in carbon content can impact performance. Specifically, the ASTM A479 Type 304L Bar may exhibit reduced tensile and yield strength. However, its corrosion resistance and weldability are generally excellent. Despite these favorable characteristics, the A276 Type 304L Rod may not be suitable for applications demanding high structural integrity.
