Monel 400 (UNS N04400) is a nickel-copper alloy with 63 to 70 percent nickel and up to 34 percent copper, iron capped at 2.5 percent. Monel K500 (UNS N05500) shares this base but adds 2.3 to 3.15 percent aluminum and 0.35 to 0.85 percent titanium, lifting tensile strength to 790-1100 MPa through age hardening, against Monel 400's 480-620 MPa annealed range. Both grades resist seawater and chloride media, and come in weld neck, slip-on, blind, socket weld, and threaded types built to ASTM B564 and ASME B16.5. We have exported alloy products for over 35 years from a plant with a 30,000-ton annual capacity, and every flange order ships with a Material Test Certificate and gate pass.
What are Monel 400 and Monel K500 Flanges
Monel 400 flanges connect pipe sections, valves, and fittings in systems carrying seawater and sour gas. The nickel-copper base resists chloride pitting and stress corrosion cracking without added coating. Monel K500 flanges use the same base alloy but reach higher yield strength through age hardening, so they hold up under bolt load and vibration in pump shafts and valve stems. Both grades stay non-magnetic and keep toughness at sub-zero temperatures, suiting cryogenic and offshore piping. Face types include raised face, flat face, and ring type joint.

Manufacturing Process
Production starts with a Monel billet, forged into a flange blank to align grain flow around the bore. Machining faces the flange, bores the center, and drills bolt holes to the correct pitch circle. Monel K500 blanks also go through solution annealing and age hardening before dimensional inspection.
