Nickel Alloy Inconel 800 Wires Features

Nickel Alloy Inconel 825 Wires Corrosion Resistance
Inconel 825 wires are designed to resist corrosion in highly corrosive environments such as chemical processing. They contain high amounts of chromium and molybdenum, providing excellent resistance to reducing and oxidizing acids. Inconel 825 wires are also resistant to stress corrosion cracking and pitting. The wire's high nickel content provides excellent resistance to chloride stress corrosion cracking, the most severe form of corrosion known. Overall, Inconel 825 wires offer superior corrosion resistance to most acids and chlorides, making them ideal for chemical processing industries.
Nickel Alloy Inconel 800 Chemical Composition
Inconel 800 wires comprise around 32% nickel, 21% chromium, 46% iron, and small amounts of carbon, aluminium, titanium, and other elements. The high nickel content provides exceptional resistance to corrosion, while chromium offers better oxidation resistance and stability at high temperatures. Inconel 800 wires also have an excellent balance of strength and flexibility and are easy to fabricate.
Nickel Alloy Inconel 825 Wires Machining
Inconel 825 wires are difficult to machine because of their hardness and high strength. However, due to the high nickel content, they can be cut using carbide-tipped and high-speed steel tools. The manufacturer recommends using cutting oil to help reduce the heat generated by the cutting process. Inconel 825 wires are also best machined when they are solution-annealed. The cutting tools should also be sharp and well-maintained to ensure a clean cut.
